There is no shortage of B777 aircraft that would prevent the airline soon using them again to NY as is pointed out above however only 17 of the 24 are currently in service with at least 5 (perhaps 6) presently at Cathays Ximen base undergoing 'renovations'. I suspect they they among other things may be having the new business class cabins fitted and if so possibly we will see them on the NY rout early next year - This is just my conjecture of course.
