I'm not familiar with the cards available in the UK, but is there a free Amex that your can open that will keep your points from expiring? That works in the US.

I would suggest asking the mods to move the thread to the Amex forum; they will know all the best uses for pts as well as ways to keep them alive for free (if possible)
