Having the same type of issues with Award flights that contain a connection with JAL.
"American Award & Upgrade availability is not valid for codeshares. Instead, search for Awards on partners by selecting the partner airline."

So with this statement now on the Expertflyer site. Would I have to set seat alerts for the AA portion of the flight I want and then a separate JAL alert for that leg?

Edit* Nevermind. Just noticed that JAL isn't searchable at all. Guess it's back to checking AA everyday.
