I have never missed a flight, and while I don’t arrive with two hours to spare (even if I have lounge access), I don’t like to stress myself while traveling.
Incidentally have a 6am flight on AS on Sunday. Different airport, but I will aim to be in line at TSA at 5am. I have PreCheck.
Thanks. The 04:50 arrival sounds like the sensible choice in that case.
I'd have few qualms arriving at LHR 50 minutes before a flight, knowing that the cutoff is T-35 for BA flights and that fast track security will mean little to no wait, with the gate closing at T-20. But probably best not to do so in "unfamiliar territory" and with an airline where gates can close at T-30.
