No. Circumstances are different for every flight. I just had a flight that cost $85 one way in BE. Did it really make sense to pay a 35% premium ($30) for main cabin? Flight was a CRJ 900, so I am gate checking anyway. Traveling with a child under 15 so we were assigned seats together right away (row 14 if anyone cares). They only thing I really lost was changeability, but I knew we planned on going and if something really happened that we couldn't, the ticket was cheap enough to throw away.
