I dont mind a 2 hour walk in the desert in the middle of the night. However I think it is back to AY for us on this route now.
Our last experience just a few weeks ago. The DOH / BKK leg was meant to be a 380, which is nice with the bar for a night cap before the snooze.

The plane went technical and carnage followed when it was substuted for an old (for QR) 777. Chaos at the gate and over 2 hours on the tarmac. At the back of the rear cabin in the original J seat. Missing the front of the upstairs cabin with the oversized WC!

Landing at BKK was just shy of 2.5 hours late.
But here is my rub; we were invited to write in by the Purser on board, she seemed to be routing out Gold / Emeralds.
I recieved a copy and paste 3 paragraph platiude list. Ending 'Just be grateful' in not so few words.

BA would have banged a few Avios our way I feel? But I would have forgiven BA. I somehow feel I expect so much more from QR but cant explain why?
