Stayed in the Kimpton last week and they didn't check us in until 5pm. Had to work in the lobby from 2-5, couldn't get my dog settled and my wife couldn't freshen up before heading out to the work she was on site for. Really left a sour taste in my mouth, never experienced this at other Kimptons. Sounds like the IC is the way to go for SD.

EDIT: Also heads up they will tell you that it's $60 for valet parking and $30 in the lot across the street. That's not really correct since the lot across the street resets in the morning and will charge you another $30 so it evens out to $60 a night.
