Award availability has nothing to do with the currency used to pay for those seats. The demand for flights is very high ATM, seats sell for plenty of moolah, and QR prefers to cash in on this to the detriment of award bookings.
Award availability has definitely reduced since QR started using Avios... i could always find reward seats with Qmiles before this, i dont think it should be under estimated just have much AVIOS is out there, and how many more people are now booking QR....
