I agree it’s ridiculous. Annoying and fills the award search with clutter, useless options, and false minimums if they are lower cost.

New NYC alternates include PHL and ABE.
New LAX options include SBA
Maybe during IROPS it’s helpful if you’re really desperate. But when searching for flights it’s not helpful. I mean ABE from NYC and SBA from LAX??
