and in post 2669 it's weather related. So for that flight you can't get compensation. What you should have done is tried to find another flight to London, or leave the Disruption Menu screen until it refreshes with more option. If in doubt, check with this forum since there is usually someone online with access to the various options. This thread is also useful.

And if you find it difficult to locate material in this forum, the BA Forum Dashboard is the best place to get oriented.

So you will recover hotel, food, taxi and wifi costs here, but unfortunately no compensation normally. If you had located another way back to the USA on the same day, asked BA to do that, and they refused, then you could get compensation. But not after the event.
