I agree with this last point - fly business from Boston and return in LP to either JFK or IAD. Helps with the cost, and I can sleep just fine in the new(ish) business class seats which is all I really want to do on the short overnight.
I have to say, I was a “heavy” client of LP since more than a decade on paid tickets (no awards).
I really enjoy their LP ground experience especially in CDG.
Now that prices have almost doubled without specific enhancement, and at the same time competition kept descent prices, I turned my choices to these alternatives (notably LX for USA, and CX and SQ for Asia), which gives me as well a bit of less routine feeling onboard 😉
