Booked on Oct26 with these T&Cs:
No charge on my CC as of posting this. I contacted the hotel on Oct27 and was told they can't charge me until the last day of my stay and that I'll get my points afterwards.
What is the point of having these T&Cs if they are not enforced?
I guess I shouldn't be complaining as I won't have to pay an advance rate until my actual stay is over. But I have to earn the points I need to book another room via actual spend now...
And this is the second time this happened to me btw. The hotel brand does not seem to matter - first time was the Hyatt Regency in Amsterdam, this one is the Lindner Hotel in Vienna.
I guess the message is, don't bother paying the Advance Purchase Rate as the T&Cs are the same.
It’s property dependent many properties will charge you ahead I can list a few -
Andaz Papagayo
Hyatt Regency Orange County
Grand Hyatt Playa Del Carmen
As for why others wait who know, maybe lazy accounting?
