In a lot of cases rebooking is done automatically by computer, if you don't like the new flights you can always call to request something else.
I have experienced this with AA metal awards as well. Wondering if anyone knows if this is still true for partner awards? I have award travel booked for next summer with a leg on AS. If there is a cancellation/change will I have carte blanche to rebook any alternate itinerary? Or are the rules tougher if a partner airline is involved?
