I've only stayed at the W Osaka and W Bali - Seminyak, but I can honestly say I already prefer it over the Ritz-Carlton as a brand.

The W was better in earlier days. It seems to have lost an edge - losing Bliss and other things that created the experience.
Today some are showing age and feel like a Westin trying to be hip. I don’t think I would ever have considered W in the luxury tier. Certainly a st Regis seems a level plus above.
