With kids and checking luggage on an LCC, I would suggest that is cutting it too close. As you note, the issue at HKT would be the line to check bags, as the airport is compact and security is typically quick. If I were flying J on TG/WN or PG, 60 minutes would be sufficient. For an LCC, and checking bags, I'd suggest arriving not less than 90 minutes prior to departure.
