So even if one spends $4,995 in Dec, if the final transaction for $5 is in January, then the 2 night credits will apply in the Jan year. However, this LITERALLY GOES AGAINST THE T&C's listed on Chase Bank's website which clearly state "World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night credits will be credited to the calendar year in which the spend occurred." (link here).

Anyway, at least now I know how they do it - not how they say they will do it.

That’s why I asked earlier if perhaps $4999 of your $5k spend was in Dec and $1 in January.

As for them not following the T&C, I think the T&C aren’t clear, but how did you think would they actually implement the terms exactly as written? If they want to post the two TQNs in the calendar year in which the spend occurred, but the spend spanned calendar years ($4999 in 2022, $1 in 2023), how would that work? Go by where the bulk is? That would disappoint/confuse people who spend $3000 in 2022 and then $500 every month in 2023, and in April they then pass the threshold and get more nights for the year they have already forgotten about. No, I think if they want to have a rolling counter that doesn’t reset at the end of the year, the implementation is the right one… except that they really need to provide us with a bloody counter in the app/website.
