If so, they should be training their front desk staff to use common sense. It reminds me of bars that have blanket policies to check everybody's IDs. One time, we were in Honolulu trying to get into a bar and it happened to be our friend's 60th birthday (he looks young, but not that young). The friend forgot his ID in the hotel room, but the meathead bouncer refused to let him in without it, citing "policy." Another time, maybe 15 years ago, I was sitting in a bar at Phoenix Airport and a very elderly looking man came in and ordered a beer. The waitress asked to see his ID, to which he quipped "Are you joking? I fought in World War II." She left without checking his ID and the manager returned a few moments later to serve him his beer and he said "Thank you for your service, sir, this one's on us." I thought it was pretty touching.
There are cases where if the establishment was caught serving underage guests, part of their remediation plan is they have to ID everyone, even when it's ridiculous.
