What is the point of Aeroplan anymore? Not only are the benefits worthless, the few that are still good are unusable. Then there is the service and product in the so called business class.

eUpgrades

It's impossible to get an eupgrade - there's never enough room on the plane - not even in Prem Econ. You can sometimes get one on a short 2-3 hour flight. What's the point?

Maple Leaf Lounge

The lounge access, now only available at 50k, is also not all what it's cracked up to be, as the Maple Leaf Lounges are garbage now. Garbage food (frozen chicken nuggets anyone?). No bottled water (it's for the environment lol, sure).

Business class / "Signature" LOL Class

Even if you pay for your own biz class ticket cuz your eUpgrade credits are useless, you get garbage service in biz class too (a cold croissant in a plastic baggie as breakfast in biz class to Europe?????). What is the point??? I've had really rude flight attendants and my luggage has been lost twice in business class in the last 2 years. Once for 3 months and on the way to my destination so I had nothing upon arrival. The priority tags also seem to mean nothing.


I won't requalify for 50k next year and I frankly don't care. No more loyalty to Air Canada. I'll just start looking for the cheapest fare. If my boss still wants to pay for biz class for my biz trips, so be it since I'm not paying. But on AC you get similar garbage treatment in economy and biz so just save you money. The deterioration with AC and Aeroplan is astounding, and no, it's not happening on all airlines.

I'm dreading my flight to Dubai in a few days. No more loyalty to this POS airlines. It's embarrassing.
