Conformance is 35 minutes, sometimes less, so you were in no danger there, however once you flight appears to be going below 75 minutes the robots step in and start offloading, particularly under 60 miinutes. One particular issue, going down to Italy / Greece / Balkans is that the wind speed there can add to delays at the out-station, then with a swift turnaround and helpful winds the flight actually gets back to Heathrow far faster than seems possible. The next flight is almost always based on the scheduled time, just in case the Rio service was able to get away on time. Combined with this, Control is being extra awkward with putting people back on flights recently, it really does need an agent advocating you through the system to get you reloaded.

Personally I think conformance is a good idea, and it would be extra maddening from a punctuality aspect if bags had to be moved on and off aircraft to reconcile with late passengers. However it is incumbent on BA to run the system with some agility to respond to cases like yours, and in particularly the HBO traveller, and frankly that doesn't happen. We really need a heap of people to fight their way through IDB compensation on this via CEDR or MCOL so that BA responds to this.
