Upon arrival at SFO and clearing customs, everyone is landside.
If you want to enter the "wrong" Terminal A with a same-day boarding pass, TSA will allow it if you explain it is for a lounge visit. However, it is not currently possible to walk counter-clockwise airside through Terminals A, B, C, D, E, F & G, because of construction between B & C.

Nor is there an airside A-to-G connection. So be sure to allow time to exit Terminal A and then clear TSA again at Terminal G or F.
