You may have headstarts with a card or cards, but you still have to get to $28k mqd for DM, or, whatever the shortfall is after considering what card spend (÷10) will net.

Eg. Let's say you are at 413k mqm. If you achieve a further 12k mqm between now and 12/31, you net another year of DM. If you have a $5k mqd headstart via 2 amex dl cards, and say spend $150k a year across your cards assuming the most generous mqd cards, you'd get $20k mqd from headstart and spend, and then 'only' need to spend $8k more next year to get the same diamond qualification your 12k mqm would have earned you.

very very easy to spend more like $800 and earn over 10k mqm so in my opinion it's a no brainer.

In my case I'm 45k mqm short of another banked year. So it becomes questionable as to how beneficial it could be. I spend around $50k only so have next to no mqd I will bank from spend.

most all of my mqd is actual dollars leaving my bank going to Deltas.
This assumes DL doesn’t make any changes which is probably naive. Fast Ed has already shown his hand with $35k MQD. People who are extending for 3,4,5,6 years of DM with their MQMs are dreaming. What if DL simply publicizes the 360 criteria next year as $35k-40k MQD and DM is $28-30k? So you are still “DM” by name but it is effectively the new PM.
