You might want to try a different bank's credit card products. I live in Canada and every bank I've ever dealt with has responded to reports of fraudulent card activity by immediately removing the charge from my account while they investigate. Same with Amex Canada. It hasn't happen to me very often (knock on wood), but I've never had any pushback from banks when it has.

I get push notifications on my phone every time something hits my card. When I stay at most hotels, including Marriotts, I get random notifications during my stay ($25 here, $100 there) for authorizations that never end up posting to my card. One time when I was staying at the Sheraton Waikiki, I lost my wallet and had to cancel all my cards. The next day, the front desk called asking me to come to the front desk. They were super understanding and didn't make a huge deal about it while I waited for Amex to FedEx me a new card to the hotel the next day and then I was good to go.
