San Diego Advice: Indigo or Kimpton?

Planning a small family getaway in San Diego. Will book two rooms for 5 nights. Diamond Ambassador.

I'm a little disappointed at the options. Looking to see if anyone has any feedback that can help me choose between unappealing choices. :-)

The Intercontinental there does not look like it has any rooms that can justify the $100+ per night premium over Indigo or Kimpton. Holiday Inns are priced the same as Indigo and Kimpton while offering lesser properties.

So I think I need to decide between Indigo and Kimpton.

The Indigo and Kimpton have such a broad array of rooms that the upgrade would be one of these fake upgrades (the difference is price is $7 per night for the next step up). They all scam with the "amenity fee", and charge an outrageous $60 per night for parking! Both have rooftop bars which are apparently closed. Reviews of both seem generic. No minibar in Kimpton. Neither have a lounge, so my milestone lounge access is worthless. And unlike most IHG properties in Asia, they don't offer any sort of happy hour program for Diamonds.

I don't think either are bad and I've got points to burn, so I feel compelled to choose between them.

Any recommendation?
