No, not if you're pre-selected the seats.

I've completely overlooked checking in online at least twice and turned up to the airport and just checked in when you send your bag through. You can also change your seat at airport check-in if you ask and found, say, 1A was now available.

The main benefit of checking in online is that you have your mobile boarding pass in advance which is ideal if you'e going straight through security and you have no hold bags!
