No real consequence at all. The more folk who do check-in online at t-24 gives a more accurate payload weight for fuel planning but that’s about it, hence the question relating to how many bags you’ll be checking in. The transaction time at the desk is potentially a little longer with passport swipes etc, but all negligible in reality vs walking up and just needing to drop bags.
