Because we are officially house-broke, this is our Year of Travelling Cheaply.

I want to go to Beijing and Shanghai in March. Airfare on Chinese carriers bought through a bucket shop is cheap enough -- now I have to arrange for hotels. I have around 145,000 Marriott points left -- probably enough for a week in one or the other city. I've got around 60,000 UA miles sitting around, and was wondering whether they can be used (efficiently) either for hotel stays, or can be transferred into a hotel program.
