If you click the link I posted, all of the T&Cs etc are there about the different types of upgrades, and when, where and who they are applicable for.
Most of December is peak season. If you want to book a party of 4 into business class you are most likely going to have to buy business class tickets, either in the first place or by buying economy and then paying the fare difference up to business.
There is no guarantee that you will receive any offer to upgrade, and as shown in most cases in this thread, such offers are now usually the same price or more than just paying the fare difference in the first place (but without the baggage, lounge and earning benefits of the higher ticketed fare)
