According to their website, this program provides liability insurance,.
Never a good sign when they are willing to provide insurance coverage for you. 1) Insurance carriers will settle if possible, and leave you with a lawsuit history. 2) They deem the activity injurious/high enough liability to offer insurance in the first place by their legal department or required to offer coverage. The wording on the website indicate Lufthansa views you as a treating doctor in these cases and the person is considered your patient.

Lufthansa saves money under the guise of a altruistic program.
