This year I will become gold again with the £500 fare to the USA. 90% of my premium flying with BA is due to the “new staff” messing up the prices . But on the other hand i wouldn’t pay more than what other airlines are asking for and many times they are much cheaper. Especially now with the new avios calculation system. Not to mention that Heathrow is rationing the slots. Another reason why BA planes tend to be full.
I literally do not know a single, solitary human being that thinks of BA as a "premium airline." I literally only hear that from FTers wanting change.

When I do fly BA it's usually because I got a great deal, and they were the cheapest, when you add in Chase 10% discounts, AARP discounts, etc. I likely would not fly them if they were at price parity with better airlines. I use their FFP because it's almost without question the easiest OWE to obtain and of course that is why the lounges in LHR are literally bursting at the seams. Frankly BA status is far too easy to obtain even though people here do not want to hear that. If they wanted to become a "premium" airline the bar would have to get raised on achieving status. Just like Delta in the US, BA simply can't provide a premium experience to the number of elites they have generated.
