BE has never been a well oiled machine for me, super clunky website. But i do have a finale i am trying to pull off. I have about 3,200 BE points accumulated, and a J flight JFK-LHR next month. No A availability yet but looks promising at F5. Assuming the EF fairy comes through i will clean out my BE account with a 3,100 point upgrade to F, draining my BE account and giving me a chance to checkout the Chelsea lounge. As it is a sleeping flight and AA J is fine for that I wouldn't do the miles/copay thing in this circumstance but I think it is a fine way to say sayonara to BE .
