I also agree with the OP's point about the frequency of emails (not the single interpretation others have put on the email): AS sends far too many marketing emails selling miles. The miles aren't worthless, though.

And unsubscribe? There's only one option when you click on the link, and it appears to unsubscribe you from all AS emails, not just promotional ones. I'm still interested in hearing about program changes to Mileage Plan, new routes and such. But the constant barrage to buy miles (versus tickets) is annoying.
