Volare Premium does not confer luggage benefits onto the traveling companion. We had 3 medium spinners and a duffel to check.

Also doesn’t confer skyteam elite benefits onto the companion ticket either but I did leverage the guest policy for entry into the KLM lounge in AMS

But back to luggage…

The duffel could be a carry on but at the check in desk she said hand baggage could be checked for free. Ok. Interesting.

So with my status I got 1x checked bag with the ticket and +1 checked bag as the Volare “benefit” even though the website wanted to charge me an insane rate ahead of time.

3rd bag was included in the other ticket.

All arrived at FCO without incident and surprisingly speedily too.
