Secondly they have been offered a flight 24 hours later to LHR. I’ve advised them about hotel and subsistence for tonight and that they can reroute themselves or stick with the option BA have given them but wasn’t sure if duty of care would cover taxi from LHR to LGW to collect car. 4 people two children u12. Can anyone clarify ? Thanks

Yes reasonable transport from LGW to LHR should be refunded by BA.
BA 2622 and 2623 where cancelled due to an oil filter issue on G-GATK and their being no standby aircraft available due to technical issues with the fleet. TECY is the reason code.
