Wow, that last bit was super helpful! I find Amex Travel nearly useless for the most part, and Expedia, at least the Canadian version, doesn't seem to have China Southern flights. So I logged in to Amex, and lo and behold, yes, they have my flights, and they are in fact cheaper. It makes no sense, but I am not going to complain.
