So is it worth making a push to rack up some MQMs before year-end to close the gap?
Well worth the extra spend this year = MQM at 50% of spend to next year @ less than 10% of spend (20c RASM = 5 miles per $ spend on tickets = 5%)

Indeed, but I went to AS - got a 100k MVP in the bargain so can try it out at least

My understanding is that if I do a MQM run of 3,000 MQMs, I will have exactly 300,000 MQMs of rollover, which would add 3 additional years of DM status. Seems like it makes sense to get the third year (versus two) with just one MQM run this year. Would be nice to know if CBs are included in the extended status or not.
Indeed. We did a 180 along with change in stated DL plans - Unfortunately all my family and friends had done their taxes for the past year and estimated by Oct 17, when the news broke about the new system; I would have happily paid the 2% fees to get lifetime MQM and status extension as a DM
