For background, fraud, "scamming," and other similar activities are now replacing traditional crimes as some of the biggest activities of street gangs and other criminals in the US. Using stolen IDs, fake credit cards, and selling hotel reservations, or just booking them, is a huge issue.
That is why hotels want to check the physical ID that matches with the guest on reservation, and a valid CC to pay for the stay or incidentals!
Still dont understand why some would so aggressively refuse to take his ID out of the wallet to the point that bordering to an assault. If I were the hotel manager I would call the police to take care of it.
