Looks like my wife and I will be in Paris over the X'mas period. Just wondering if everything will be closed, and what should one do for dining that day (and possibly days before or after). Would a half board rate at the hotel be a good idea?

For reference, will be arriving in France the Wednesday (22nd) before (headed to Versailles for 2 days), then back to Paris for X'mas eve, and leave CDG on a late morning flight on the 28th.

We've spent X'mas in rural France (precisely 10 years earlier) but in a self-contained gite so any holiday shutdowns didn't affect us. Just sad that the patisseries must have eaten or destroyed all the chocolate sapins so none for sale after the holiday.
