I entered through IAH GE on Wed - I think this might be my first time coming in through Houston. The new scanners with facial recognition worked fine, but the rest of the process was extremely slow and annoying. The output of the scanner area dumped into a single line, at least 3 crowd control wraps deep, and everyone was being individually checked by a single immigration agent. He asked for passports and was asking some people numerous questions. This was my slowest entry into the US in years - probably took 20 minutes, and I'm certain I would have been better in the normal line, where there were a dozen agents.

Is this just a Houston thing? My recent experiences in SFO and EWR mirror previous responses in this thread.
