If that’s the case, what about cancelling the return leg after arriving? Are there any issues with cancelling a return leg of a round trip ticket after arriving from the outbound leg?
I don’t want to have to fully cancel the r/t and rebook because both flights are more expensive now. Just trying to see what our best option is here. Thanks!
You should be able to cancel and refund the return portion of the roundtrip award after you have flown the outbound, but you might have to wait a few days for the outbound portion of the award to "fall off" the award record. At least, that's what I was told when I was (ultimately) able to cancel the return portion of a roundtrip award.
