A great mix of refined but not uptight, owner speaks enough English to make the evening interactive (which we enjoyed tremendously). Not a sushi expert by any stretch but this was, by far, the best omakase experience of my life. Never had salt water eel before, and you now you are in for a treat when the first side dish (eggplant and gluten) is a home run.
Great, thank you - I have a preference for strict edomae nigiri in Jiro's style so I will see if my concierge can get me a reservation here. Could you elaborate on your experience, what you paid (not including alcohol), was the clientele mostly local or foreign, etc?
