You can also keep an eye on award space, as it often opens up late. And, of course, the schedule might change again between now and February.
My only fear on a misconnect with an award ticket is being offered only Y. My age and disposition are not agreeable to this on long flights. If nothing is offered via the liaison process, absolutely will look for alt. award space. Thx.

There is a chance JL opens space via the liaisons. IME AA<>JL liaisons are actually responsive.
There is a chance space opens up before February. So you can just let the problem sit with the hope you see a seat you can re-book yourself on.
At the end AA is the ticketing agent and they can't force JL to open inventory, but they can force open their own inventory. AA can re-accommodate you (the next day, nothing can be done about flight timings) in J on their metal HND-LAX-SFO. If JL does not budge, this is the best you can do. And it can be done but might take HUCA. Wait the week to hear back from JL first.
For sure will wait the week (or so). If nothing, will check back and hit up AA to open up their own inventory without further miles requirement, which I hope they would do. There is AA J award inventory from HND, as you saw, but the mileage requirement is laughably high (200k and up). I don't really care where on the west coast I land since I need to end up in PDX anyway. Thx for the assist.

When I called AS, they requested via their liason with JL to open J space on the TYO-JFK flight the following day. I was advised that it could take up to a week. 4 hours later, I received email confirmation that the request had been granted and a new ticket had been issued.

Since the misconnect is JLs doing, I don't think you will have any issues being reaccommodated to a day before from BKK-HND or to a day after HND-SFO.

This is encouraging. Much appreciated. It's only been a couple business days. I am hoping the problem magically resolves before the end of the week. Of course, I will now keep an eagle eye on this rez...as well as a second JL award trip booked through AA next May/June, a unicorn-like LAX-HND-OKA and HKD-HND-SFO, both in F.
