I priced up some VS reward seats against cash for September and it wasn't worth using points. I would rather pay cash and get more points to use at a time when the reward seat saves me money.
I do know that people are on the phone at 5am booking a reward seat, especially the return seat as VS on guarantee 2UC 2 PE and 8 economy seats each flight.
