So why on earth did you not pay for your flight with Avios? You said that you paid Avios and cash. As it was you paid a very good fare reduced with Avios. I have not seen anything as cheap for a CE ticket out of Heathrow.
I read the OP as having bought an avios flight. Obviously there is cash involved too for taxes etc.
By the way, Madama P, didn't I hear you mention making lunch earlier today? Not out on strike in sympathy with the Icelandic dottirs ?
