All in all, business class check-in took about 2 hours at CDG and we weren’t able to carry out stuff on the plane. Will have serious reservations about flying TK again.
long story short , besides what others said you should consider yourself very very lucky and the outcome was somehow positive
if you never faced such issue in 25 years of flying by yourself thats very impressive , it also mean you always had peaceful travel experiences , but unfortunately nothing last for ever
They allowed you on board by taking a look at pictures your brother took , cause if they decided to apply the process as it is, you wouldnt have never seen this plane, period
Next time at work when someone ask you for something that could potentially get you into troubles and you refuse, remember that employee cause thats essentially what happened
If you have doubts about flying with TK again ; then bad news your 25 years of flying are over , cause this can happen with pretty much every airline nowadays
Something must have triggered an alert , most likely the card not present payment .
Sometimes payment , even when authenticated , can be flagged for many reasons = country , location , one way ticket bought few hours before departure , business class , identity mismatch, nationality of the customer , country of the issuing bank ,etc .....
Airlines would rather cancel a legit ticket than having a suspected fraudster on board , cause not only they would let someone fly for free , this would bring a lot of other kind of troubles
