Very much so

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Queen Premium. Not entirely sure what I got - it still said Queen Premium on the App but it was certainly different from the pictures

How are the rooms?
Recently renovated. Bizarrely for the UK, there are a few room blocks in old buildings around the site. The area my room was only had 3 rooms in that entrance. This is great on a sunny day but wasn't so good in the morning for breakfast as it meant walking in the rain to get to the restaurant.
Entered into the main bedroom which was fairly small. There was then a separate hallway up one step which the hotel had converted into a study area. Then a newly renovated bathroom with shower only.

How is the exec. lounge?

What was good and what was bad?
Good check-in process. Included a prize draw that got me an extra 500 points. Beautiful position. Nice renovation. Really enjoyed the breakfast in the Tudor restaurant; cold items were on the buffet but cooked items were to order and hence fresh and hot. Nice 16m pool - spa facilities were slightly tired but perfectly acceptable.
Bad - the footpath to get to my room was not in particularly good shape. Need to wear a coat to get to breakfast.

Value for $ or IHG One Rewards Points? Would you return?
Really good value for what I got - only slightly more than nearby economy hotels and a far nicer experience. Sure it is different at the weekends as this is primarily a wedding venue. Hotel is about 3 miles outside the town centre.
