I'd credit to AA for you because of the status issue. I'd credit Junior to BA for the redemption options. I always earn Avios on AA. I have no chance of status, but lots of CC transfer options. And Avios are great for cheap short-haul domestic redemptions, much better than AA. I have several trips right now for just 8 or 9000 Avios each way. It's true they do charge redemptions by the segment, but even then, they're often cheaper than AA on the same trip.
