So I found YYZ-DXB-YYZ (5-hour layover) the best option for getting the +- 17,000 SQM I’ll need to hit 250,000 SQM and bank a year of SE. I got Latitude there with an instant upgrade and PE flexible on the way back, but am currently only waitlisted. It was $3500, which included a 15% off friends and family discount. That’s a lot but I think it’s still just worth it to secure an extra year of SE. I could have done it cheaper but it would have required more hours in the air and I’m sick of flying this year. I’ve got until mid-November to think about it and decide whether it’s actually worth it.
