First & foremost, AS can't cancel your SEA-PDX flight if the coupon is on QR ticket stock. They have no control over it until the day before the flight.
I've had JetBlue (automatically) cancel a jetblue metal, but AA 001 ticketstock itinerary on me because of overlap/duplicate issues. So this should definitely be possible for Alaska also, if they cared.
