In the US, most W's are basically a different colour Westin/ Sheraton/ whatever. Or worse (a lot are pretty grotty and out of date).

Outside of the US they do cover quite a range - in general the Retreats (Bali, Samui, etc.) are higher-end than the city hotels which vary from being just a bit better than the ones in the US to being quite cool (e.g. Brisbane).

I still really like what W's are trying to do. I just wish they'd do it competently a bit more often.
