What do you mean by "dealing with NYC streets"? When the sign says walk (of course in 2023 it doesn't say walk, but there's a pretty picture), you proceed across. It's really remarkably simple. Far simpler than finding the correct exit leading to the correct corridor, likely involving walking up and/or down stairs with your bags, to get to Moynihan Station.
